The South Korean automakers – Hyundai has been successful in getting a lot of attention with its latest launch 2017 Verna sedan in India. The 2017 Hyundai Verna is a brilliant product by Hyundai, which is all set to get good number of sales and strengthen Hyundai’s presence in the sedan segment. Moving ahead, Hyundai is planning to conquer the premium sedan segment as well with its all-new Hyundai i30 Fastback, which is placed above Verna and below Elantra in Hyundai’s line-up.
Hyundai Motors has officially unveiled the fourth addition in the i30 family last month; the Hyundai i30 Fastback, which would be launched globally by the beginning of 2018. And then, it is expected to land in the Indian subcontinent by the second quarter of 2018. Hyundai is working aggressively on its latest design philosophy for its upcoming cars, and the 130 Fastback carries the same. Let’s have a close look at this upcoming premium sedan.
Hyundai 130 Fastback
The Hyundai i30 Fastback is much identical to its hatchback avatar in the front. On the front sits Hyundai’s signature cascading grille with chrome highlights. The newly designed headlamps with three-pot projector lights and LED daytime running lights strengthen the premium batch for this sedan. There is an additional strip of LED DRLs in place of fog lamps that look just good.
The designers at Hyundai have ensured that the i30 Fastback looks great from everywhere. Thanks to the bold and muscular character lines on the bonnet, front bumper and on the sides, this upcoming Hyundai sedan looks bold as well as sporty. The sloping roofline, large sporty alloy wheels and stylish ORVMs with integrated turn lights are the major highlights of the exterior looks.
The rear of this premium sedan looks compact with arching boot line wrapped around the LED tail lamps. The muscular rear bumper with chrome-tipped exhaust looks cool.
The elegancy and premiumness in continued on the interiors of Hyundai i30 Fastback as well. The all-black themed dashboard adds a style, premiumness and the smart driver oriented controls are superbly placed. What attracts us the most is the large touch-screen infotainment system at the centre of the dashboard that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The well-placed AC vents, informative instrument cluster and other controls goes will with the overall look and design of the interiors.
The Hyundai i30 Fastback is unveiled with two downsized turbocharged petrol engines. The first one is 1.4 T-GDI turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine that churns 138bhp of maximum power. The second one is 1.0 T-GDI 3-cylinder engine that produces 118bhp of maximum power. They are coupled with six-speed manual or seven-speed dual clutch transmission options. It would be interesting to see whether the Indian variant of i30 Fastback carries the same engine options or not.
The safety features on Hyundai i30 Fastback include blind spot detection, 7-airbag system, high beam assist, speed limit information function, lane keeping assist, rear-cross traffic alert, driver attention alert and cruise control, emergency braking assist and a lot more.
